Description[edit]

"Lazy" was originally released as an immediate download sent to members of the 2024 Instant Fan Club following new sign ups. The song debuted to the public on WYNC on April 2nd, and a release on digital platforms followed on April 19. The song was released on a 7" vinyl single on October 3. The 7" features "Buckle Down, Winsocki" on the B-side, which had been previously released on the 2021 extended play The Pamphlet EP.

The artwork was created by David Cowles, and is a reinterpretation of the artwork that accompanied the song's original 1924 Irving Berlin sheet music. The cover is comparable in style to the work of artist Peter Max, as well as The Beatles' 1968 animated film Yellow Submarine.

The band has stated that the single is a standalone release, and the song is not likely to appear on their upcoming studio album.[1]
